Please write from the email address on your account, and say which phone you are using (iPhone or Android). Do not send us medical details about anyone — we do not need them, and we do not want to hold them.
Use the report button, which is on every request and every recording inside the app. That reaches us with the item attached, which email cannot.
Questions people ask
- How do you know the person was really at the site?
-
Their device reports its location, and the server checks it against that site's own geographic boundary — the app never decides this for itself. They must then stay inside the boundary for several minutes before they are allowed to take a request.
The waiting period is the point. It is what stops someone driving past and marking themselves as present. Falsified locations and impossible jumps between distant sites are rejected.
- Who can hear the recording made for me?
-
You, and nobody else. The recording belongs to the person who asked for it, never to the person who made it.
Whoever recorded the prayer reviews it once before sending. After that they cannot play it back, download it, or find it again — not from our servers, and not from their own phone, where the local copy is discarded. Their own history shows where and when they prayed, never for whom.
- What if nobody prays for my request?
-
The request waits in that site's queue until someone verified at the site takes it. If nobody does before it expires, the request lapses and you are refunded.
This is a service run by people standing in real places. There may be nobody at a given site at a given hour, and some sites are inaccessible entirely.
- Does the person praying see my name?
-
No. Requests are always sent anonymously. The person praying sees only the name of the person you are praying for and the category you chose. Your own name, your contact details and your billing details are never shown to another user.
- What exactly is in a request?
-
A first name, a parent's first name, which parent it is, the person's gender, and a category from a fixed list. There is no surname, no contact detail and no free-text box — deliberately, so that a diagnosis or an address has nowhere to be typed.
- How do I delete my account?
-
In the app, open the Account tab and choose to delete your account. The confirmation screen states exactly what goes and what stays before you commit.
If you no longer have the app installed, email delete@yadavshalom.org from the address on your account. The full explanation is on the delete your account page.
- I did not get the recording I paid for.
-
Check My requests in the app first — a request shows whether it is still waiting, has been taken by someone, or is complete. If it says complete and the audio will not play, write to support@yadavshalom.org and tell us which site and roughly when.
