What this service is
Yad Avshalom connects someone who cannot travel to a holy site with someone who is physically there and willing to say a prayer on their behalf.
What we verify: that the person was physically inside the site's boundary, on GPS, for a minimum period, and that they submitted a recording if you paid for one.
What we do not and cannot verify: the content, sincerity, or spiritual efficacy of any prayer. We make no religious claim of any kind. We are not a religious authority and nothing here is a ruling.
What you must not submit
Do not submit a name that is not a real person's name, anything abusive, or anything intended to identify or harass someone. There is a report button on every request and every recording.
Payment
Requests are paid for. Prices are shown before you commit. If nobody prays for your request before it expires, you are refunded.
Still to be completed Refund mechanics, expiry period and the payment processor's own terms need completing once the payment route is settled.
Recordings
A recording made for you is yours to listen to. The person who made it has no access to it after sending. Do not republish a recording that names someone else's relative.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Account tab. Requests you made and the recordings made for you are destroyed. Prayers you said for other people remain with the people who asked for them, no longer linked to you — we do not take away someone else's recording because you left.
How to delete your account, including without the app installed
Availability
This is a service run by people at holy sites. There may be nobody at a given site, and requests may expire unfilled. Sites in some countries are inaccessible or dangerous.
